Laboratory analysis

Laboratory asbestos test – a definite answer

Why a laboratory?

Laboratory test or visual assessment

Visual assessment

  • Doesn't give a definite answer
  • Asbestos can't be recognised with the naked eye
  • Can lead to wrong conclusions
  • Not enough where the rules require an analysis

Laboratory test with JEOL SEM-EDS

  • Definite, chemical identification
  • All six types of asbestos
  • To ISO 22262-1
  • Written report as evidence
