The price at a glance
- Analysis: €49.99 incl. VAT per sample.
- The same price per sample, whether you send one sample or several.
- Postage: you pay this yourself when you send the sample.
- Payment: by card when you order (Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay or Google Pay).
Prices are in euros. Companies with a verified EU VAT number pay the price without VAT under the reverse charge procedure. The price includes analysis of the sample with a JEOL SEM-EDS electron microscope and a written report in English, which you receive by email.
What makes up the cost?
The cost comes mainly from the laboratory's analysis work. The sample is prepared, examined in the electron microscope according to the ISO 22262-1 standard, and the result is documented in a report. Each sample is analysed separately, so the report gives one result per sample.
You do not need a separate express service: every sample is analysed and the result emailed on the same day the sample arrives at the laboratory.
Analysis compared with an asbestos survey
An asbestos survey of an entire building usually costs considerably more than analysing individual samples. If you know exactly which material needs to be analysed, it is therefore simpler and cheaper to take the sample yourself and send it for analysis.
Removing an asbestos-containing material without checking it first can, on the other hand, become expensive: dust spread around the home can make extensive clean-up necessary. Compared with this risk, the cost of an analysis is small.
How to order
Order the analysis online and pay by card. Then take a sample of the material in line with the sampling instructions, pack it in a resealable bag, label it clearly and send it to the laboratory in Espoo, Finland as a letter or small parcel with your national postal service. Some postal services do not accept goods in international letters; if yours does not, send it as a small parcel. Only firmly bound materials may be sent by post, for example tiles, tile adhesive, filler, asbestos cement sheet and floor covering.
The laboratory receives the sample, analyses it and emails the result on the same day the sample arrives. How long it takes overall therefore depends mainly on how long your shipment is in transit.
When is it worth sending several samples?
Several samples are needed if you are removing different materials during the renovation. In a bathroom renovation, for example, it may make sense to have the tile adhesive, wall filler and floor adhesive each analysed separately. Each material is a separate sample, as the composition can differ.
It is also practical to send all the samples at once. You pay postage for one shipment and receive all the results at the same time, which makes planning the whole renovation easier.
A small item in the renovation budget
An asbestos analysis gives you certainty about the material before you start removing it, so that you can protect your health and comply with the rules for asbestos work. Compared with the total renovation budget, the cost of an analysis is small, but it means a lot for safety.
Take a look at the price list and order your asbestos analysis, and you can plan your renovation with peace of mind.
