Yes. A small sample of firmly bound material can be sent to the laboratory by post if it is securely packed and clearly labelled. The analysis costs €49.99 incl. VAT, and the result is ready the same day the sample arrives.
How it works

Wearing protective equipment, take a small piece of the suspect material.
Pack it carefully
Put the sample in a sealed zip-lock bag and then in soft outer packaging.
Send it by post
Send it as a letter or small parcel with your national postal service to our laboratory in Finland.
Get the result
You receive the results report by email the same day the sample arrives.

How to pack the sample correctly
What you need
- A zip-lock bag (sealed)
- Soft padding (tissue paper)
- A small box or a padded envelope
- Clear labelling: "Asbestos sample – laboratory"
Remember
- One sample per bag – do not mix samples
- Write the sampling location on the bag
- Send as a letter or small parcel – check which option your postal service accepts for items going abroad
